News for December, 2007

We are still enroute to open officially this January. We've had a few minor glitches along the way as any business does when it moves into a new realm. In order to avoid stretching ourselves too thin we've decided to no longer produce any non-fiction or slice-of-life fiction.

Time for Loki!

We have a policy of allowing our writers to retain all merchandising rights. Pet, author of Loki's Parrot and Best Friends, No Matter What, has designed a calendar featuring the married kitties from Best Friends for 2008. It is available in three sizes.

We expect the color reprint of Best Friends to be available in stores in January.

Footnotes-- doncha hate 'em?

Lori MacGregor's historical romance, The Taming of the Shrew, (yes THAT Taming of the Shrew) is scheduled to go into production in March, 2008.

Lori has combined her many years as a history buff, formalist and lover of Shakespeare to stage an adaptation which places Shakespeare's dialogue into historical context. There have been many adaptations which focused on sexism in the piece. Lori provides a fresh and historically accurate interpretation of The Taming of the Shrew as the story of two intelligent social misfits accidentally finding love in Renaisance Italy. The result is a fast-paced, enjoyable romantic comedy brimming with slapstick and snappy dialogue poured over a base of Renaissance cultural trivia.

AND it is completely footnote-free!

New Release: Best Friends No Matter What

We've been lucky enough to acquire Loki, the loveable, lisping, videoblogging cat who appeared in a CBS spot on racism for Black History Month last Superbowl Sunday.

In Best Friends No Matter What, Loki and his best friend, Mayday, show children and newlyweds how to have happy and healthy relationships as only two 5 year old cats can, with a year's worth of play dates.

Pet Serrano wrote and illustrated this book (with Loki's help) for her brother's wedding and the story has proved popular with both children and adults. You can listen to Loki himself read it in this video.

Best Friends will be available worldwide for the first time in color in time for the holidays (December of 2007). Ask for it in your local bookstore or at any online book retailer.
